Newsletter Issue #3

We constantly review individuals’ employment histories and form opinions about them based on how long they have held their prior positions. An individual who has changed jobs more than once and stays in their employment for less than a year is known as a job hopper.

According to BBC: “The traditional model was to work for a company who would effectively decide your progression for you. Today, people are autonomous – they want to take control of their career.” Our main goal as a staffing agency is to make a two-way match between our clients and candidates. This ensures longer-term careers and reduces the risk of job hopping.

At AVSS we start maximizing a candidate’s potential as soon as we interview them by presenting them with exciting new job opportunities. We discuss the trade-offs such as benefits, work/life balance, and career growth. When screening candidates for our clients we seek that they are clear, concise, and honest. During interviews we ask for logical reasons as to why the candidate left their prior positions as well as asking them about the new skills they’ve gained and how our clients will benefit professionally from their various work experience.

Most importantly we cross reference feedback by being transparent and letting them know exactly what our clients expect of them. Making sure all candidates fully understand these expectations can help make them feel secure in the role and loyal to our clients.
